Here’s a little guidance on the assignment for this coming monday, in case you need it. For those who missed classes on Ableton Live, do look under the help menu… you’ll find ‘lessons table of contents’ and ‘all lessons’ LOOK THERE FIRST. do the lessons on recording, editing arrangements and using automation. In fact, lord knows I wouldn’t stop you from doing ANY lessons, it can only help.
Focus on using audio. your own, other people’s audio, all of those sample libraries we’ve created… Use the Live plug-ins as sends and returns and use automation in Arrangement view. If anyone has any questions or problems, or things that you want to do that are proving difficult for you to figure out… JUST ASK… make a comment here. I’m on tour in Miami with nothing to do but focus on you and play a little. Of course, I just realized that I forgot my power cord for my lappy, but I’ve already found an apple store only 10 minutes away thank goodness so only have to find a taxi tomorrow morning.
On Monday, we’re going to go through all of your pieces, you’ll present what you got, and we’ll talk about how to explode what you have into a masterpiece using some Live techniques… Once again, ask your questions, I and everyone will answer them, just put fingers to keys and type.
